cocoa legato café
Revival Architects partnered with Cocoa Legato to transform an existing historic Seattle building into a vibrant new home for craft chocolate, coffee, and live music. Revival provided architectural design, permitting, and project coordination services, helping prepare the existing building for its next chapter while working within the character and constraints of the historic structure.
The completed space brings together several unique uses under one roof: a bean-to-bar chocolate factory, café, retail experience, and live music venue. Visitors can see chocolate being produced on-site while enjoying the café, and the space transforms into a venue for Seattle musicians and community events. Cocoa Legato’s concept combines founder Aaron Lindstrom’s passion for chocolate and music, with a focus on ethically sourced cacao and locally made craft chocolate.
For Revival Architects, Cocoa Legato represents what adaptive reuse can do at its best—preserving the character of an existing building while creating a completely new experience within it. The project gave an older Seattle property renewed purpose and helped turn Cocoa Legato’s unconventional vision into a functional, permitted commercial space built around production, hospitality, and community.
